But you should monitor stuff like CPU & GPU temperatures and clocks, CPU package power, throttling flags, fan speed, and temperatures under Dell EC (first Ambient is near the VRMs), using something similar to HWinfo64. I've got no idea how this throttling works under linux and what are your workloads. It went as far as Dell reducing the GPU throttling temperature with an irreversible BIOS update, and issuing a motherboard revision with an extra VRM mosfet. There is an undisclosed throttling scheme vital for stable operation that reduces CPU and GPU clocks if the temperatures rise, but despite this some heavy users reported restarting/freezing under load in Windows initially. And in particular, the voltage regulators (VRM) lack active cooling, hence heat tends to build up in the top central area under longer workloads.
Its power supply and cooling systems are undersized considering the CPU and GPU power consumption under load.
